Diverge of the times past of what the programme is about, on the Positive 5 website, says: "In 1597 King James VI of Scotland published 'Daemonology', a handbook on how to recognise and destroy, witches. The book explored the risk that community Monstrous slaves of the Mischievous sprite, posed to James himself. It fuelled brunt of witch hunting at some stage in Britain."
I've in simple terms watched The King's War On Witches on catchup and notice it was extremely good. It includes interpretation from prominent historians Tutor Ronald Hutton and Malcolm Gaskill, inventor of Witchcraft: A Spare Astute Invention, as well as scenes excursion at the Museum of Witchcraft in Cornwall.
