The Spiritual Meaning Of Palm Sunday

As Passover approaches, I noticed an increased interest in the post The Spiritual Meaning of Passover. A "spiritual Passover" takes place whenever one decides to remove a sinful behavior in one's life. Removal of evil is the first step on any spiritual path, and deliverance from hell. For anyone enslaved to a sinful behavior - which is symbolized by the slavery of the Israelites in Egypt - one's will is enslaved by evil spirits. For we are not truly individual beings - all of our thoughts originate from the spiritual world, and it is our choice whether we follow the heavenly world or the one from hell. This is the true origin of human free will.

As I already discussed the symbolism of the Passover ritual, what is the spiritual meaning of Palm Sunday which preceded Passover? Palm Sunday commemorates the day when Jesus entered Jerusalem:

The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: " Hosanna! ' Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!' The King of Israel!"

Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:

"Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey's colt"."

His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him. (John 12:12-16)Some skeptics may just say that Jesus did this as he was well versed in scripture. However the prophecy of Zechariah is more remarkable from the statement that comes right after it:

"He shall speak peace to the nations; His dominion shall be from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth" (Zech. 9:10)The Jews of course expected a literal king to restore the kingdom of Israel, not realizing that his kingdom was spiritual - his kingdom on earth is the church. And the Christian Church honoring Jesus certainly spans from sea to sea and is found in every corner of the earth. Who could have predicted that?

Most who read this passage state that the reason why Jesus rode in on a donkey into Jerusalem was to fulfill the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9, and will get no further than that. If we ask questions like, WHY a donkey? And WHY honored with palm branches? No one will answer. Because hidden behind these literal historical events, and the prophecies predicting them, is a hidden spiritual symbolism. It is only when one understands the spiritual symbolism can this be applicable to everyday life.

THE SYMBOLISM OF A DONKEY

Every person, object or animal has a spiritual symbolism, signifying something about the inner psychology of the soul. There is a correspondence between every material thing with a more eternal, abstract spiritual idea. A donkey is mentioned along with an ox in the tenth commandment:

You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife,

nor his male servant, nor his female servant,

nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's. (Ex. 20:14)The tenth and final commandment speaks concerning desire for material things - thus it is mentioned last, for the desire of material things is furthest from following God (the first commandment). In a more general sense, the tenth commandment speaks against the love of self and the world, which opposes everything in the 10 commandments. But note the pattern in the commandment: first house and wife, then male and female servant, then ox and donkey. So why such word order? Again, even the order of the words has a spiritual meaning. Things will either relate to that of the will or doing good, or it will relate to that of the thought or knowing the truth:

By house is meant all good in general, by wife all truth in general, by manservant affection for spiritual truth, by maidservant affection for spiritual good, by ox affection for natural good, and by ass affection for natural truth. These are the things which are not to be coveted, that is, which are not to be taken away from any one, and which are not to be harmed. That these things are meant in the internal sense, is because the Word in that sense is for those who are in heaven, inasmuch as those who are in heaven do not perceive the Word naturally, but spiritually, thus not house, nor wife, nor manservant, nor maidservant, nor ox, nor ass, but the spiritual things that correspond to them, which are the goods of love and the truths of faith. In a word, the external sense or the sense of the letter is for those who are in the world, but the internal sense for those who are in heaven, and also for those who are in the world so far as they are at the same time in heaven, that is, so far as they are in charity and faith. ("Heavenly Arcana", n. 8912).To explain this symbolism further would entail yet further word studies on house, wife, servant, ox, and so on, which Swedenborg amply explains in "Heavenly Arcana". The word order show degrees of order from highest to lowest: good and truth itself; then the spiritual affection for good and truth which are servants as these affections serve what is good and true; then finally, the natural affection for what is good and true. The natural affection is lower than the spiritual affection, and the spiritual affection is lower than that of love and truth itself. For example, everyone has a natural desire for friendship. Within this natural desire, there is hidden a spiritual affection for what is good and true inside people. Hidden within this spiritual affection, is the love of God himself, who is the origin of good and truth. The house and the wife can be said to be in the most internal sense God's dwelling in heaven and the church, for the church is the bride which teaches people the truth. "Materialism", and "capitalism "which promotes it, destroys these spiritual affections.

The ox and the donkey are animals which represent the lowest natural desires of any person. Animals, in general, represent affections, as opposed to plants which in general represent truth. So why should it be declared that the Messiah should ride on a donkey when entering the city of Jerusalem? The reason is: TO ENTER THE CHURCH (JERUSALEM), ONE MUST SUBORDINATE ONE'S NATURAL DESIRES TO THE DIVINE TRUTH (THE KING ON THE DONKEY).

To ride upon an ass was a sign that the natural was made subordinate, and to ride upon a colt the son of a she-ass was a sign that the rational was made subordinate. That the son of a she-ass signified the same as a mule, has been shown above (at the passage from Gen. xlix. 11). From this their signification, and because it belonged to the highest judge and to a king to ride upon them, and at the same time that the representatives of the church might be fulfilled, it pleased the Lord to do this ("Heavenly Arcana", n. 2781.8).And this is the reason why in the Old Testament there are so many laws given concerning one's ox and donkey:

SINCE BY AN OX AND AN ASS THE NATURAL MAN AS TO GOOD AND TRUTH IS SIGNIFIED, MANY LAWS WERE THEREFORE GIVEN IN WHICH OXEN AND ASSES ARE MENTIONED, WHICH LAWS AT FIRST SIGHT DO NOT APPEAR TO BE WORTHY OF MENTION IN THE DIVINE WORD; BUT WHEN UNFOLDED AS TO THEIR INTERNAL SENSE, THE SPIRITUAL MEANING IN THEM APPEARS TO BE OF GREAT MOMENT ("HEAVENLY ARCANA", N. 2781.10).THE SYMBOLISM OF PALM TREES

So what of the palm trees, what do those signify? Palm trees were used in rituals from ancient times. It was one of the trees to be used in the Jewish feast of tabernacles:

YE SHALL TAKE FOR YOU IN THE FIRST DAY THE FRUIT OF A TREE OF HONOR, SPATHES OF PALM-TREES, and a branch of a dense tree, and willows of the torrent; and ye shall be glad before Jehovah your God seven days (Lev. 23:40)Moreover, it is said that King Solomon carved angelic cherubs, palm trees and flowers for decorating the temple of Jerusalem (1 Kings 6:29, 32). And palm trees were used also in Ezekiel's new temple (see Ez. 41). But that is not all, this symbol is very ancient. Here is a carving of angelic beings taking fruit from a palm tree from ancient Assyria:

There are many more depictions of the sacred palm tree, which can be drawn from ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. There was once a shared symbolism across the Middle East, and this was from a more ancient revelation that had preceded Abraham and Judaism. Some of these symbols, such as the palm tree, survived in Biblical scripture. But it is so ancient that all of these meanings have been lost. What does the palm tree signify? Why would it always be portrayed in the temple? Here is what Swedenborg had to say:

[the signification of "palm-trees" as being the goods of the spiritual church, which are the goods of truth; and because by "palm-trees" are signified goods, by them is also signified the affection of good, and the consequent delight, for all delight is from the affection of good. ("Heavenly Arcana", n. 8369)And there is another interesting comment on the passage from Leviticus:

Ye shall take for you in the first day the fruit of a tree of honor, spathes of palm-trees, and a branch of a dense tree, and willows of the torrent; and ye shall be glad before Jehovah your God seven days (Lev. 23:40); by "the fruit of a tree of honor," is signified celestial good; by "palm-trees," spiritual good, or the good of truth; by "a branch of a dense tree," the truth of memory-knowledge; and by "willows of the torrent," the lowest truths of the natural; thus by these four are signified all goods and truths in their order. ("Heavenly Arcana", n. 8369)So its beginning to make sense: first comes the subordination of the natural man, our lowest self, and bringing our selfish desires under control. Our lowest self is signified by the donkey. A spiritual affection for the truth is signified by the palm trees: this is the second step after purification or repentance from sin. And the third step? God's spirit begins to dwell within us: this is signified by Jesus riding on the donkey as he enters Jerusalem. This is something that I had described in The Three Steps of Spiritual Development. The three steps are:

* Repentance from one's particular sins, turning away from them. This is the purification stage (represented by Passover).
* Living by the truths that are learned (represented by Pentecost).
* Acting out of love: love comes first instead of truth (represented by the feast of Tabernacles).

So the first act for any spiritual path is to bring the natural person under control - that is controlling one's desires, and fighting against them. If we are not willing to acknowledge a sin as a sin, and just ignore it, we are stuck outside the door. But repentance brings us into the door of the spiritual temple. Thus Jesus rides on a donkey when he enters Jerusalem. What does he do next? In the synoptic gospels, he cleanses out the temple of money changers. This is what happens to us when we cleanse our inner selves of material desires.

The Inside Out Church And Economics Of Evangelism The Why Of Planting

Last weekend I had a fun time at the Christian Universalist Association celebration in Oklahoma City, first Friday night as part of the Restoration Nation father's day annual celebration, and preaching by Carlton Pearson of New Dimensions in Tulsa, which is now worshipping at All Souls Unitarian Church after a few years of worshipping at Trinity Episcopal after losing members and its building when it was megachurch Higher Dimensions. And Then Saturday at the UCC Church of the Open Arms for the CUA celebration. I was invited to talk about church planting, especially the incarnational organic way, as a way of growth. The CUA is interested in church planting in a variety of ways including house churches, and it is also starting moves toward its own ordination process as part of leadership development that could be helpful in starting such church plants.

The folks at the CUA seemed a bit worried that their first celebration wasn't attended by more people; some 30 for their part of the weekend event it seemed, but it was an ecumenical event and good sharing on Christian Universalism which is more widespread of course than such numbers would indicate. People were talking about higher gas prices and the economy for low turnout and that is always a factor. But then I think there is also the old issue of universalism and committment to institutions (they said a lot of folks also weren't too crazy about hooking up with another organization if it is interested in furthering its organization and assets, especially many universalists in the more charismatic side of the movement who are spirit-led and tend to be wary of institutions.) There's all of that I think too; another way UU and pentecostalists are brothers and sisters of the Third Person of the Holy Trinity :).

I was thinking that the problem is likely that they didnt have more in attendance but that they weren't small enough; kicking movements off these days I think is more a matter of retreats than revivals, more a matter of going deep in relationships with a tribe of folks; the same kind of dynamic that will kick off church planting movements. More small group sharing than large scale proclamation. But the CUA is young and its right that an ecumenical movement is bubbling up all around its concerns; the very ecumenical nature of it might be an ironic stumbling block to people taking on another organization; they are already sensing a coming out inside their own circles and tribes and don't need another.

My thoughts anyway coming from an admittedly church planting perspective.

What I was struck with in preparing for my presentation was that instead of spending so much time on how people are doing things organic and incarnational these days, and what we are up to here in Turley, OK, as I have done in different ways since I started doing workshops back in the early 90s on this, is that I could have spent much more productive time focusing our attention on the why of church planting movements. Especially with universalists. You have to counter from others, and know deeply within your own communities, why it is vital for universalist salvation believers to be involved in planting. After all, the argument goes, why plant a church, why try to attract people to a church, if you are going to see them all in heaven anyway one of these days. What is it that would require me to make such a sacrifice, to make such a committment, if the reward for that committment is no more of a payoff than if I don't make such a sacrifice and committment. If you want more of this economic basis of religious committment, of course, spend time with the wonderful books, provocative books, by Rodney Stark, now of Baylor.

I often talk about culture trumping theology; well, marketplace culture might trump it all.

But as I told them this last weekend when I did get into that most important why of planting such churches, regardless of the multiple ways of how, is that we need to plant such churches, such God communities, precisely to counter that marketplace quid pro quo kind of spirituality. Just because it is reality doesn't make it true spiritually. That kind of worldview on religious committment is precisely what the church, that body of people making Jesus visible in the world, is called to counteract against by creating communities of the opposite value, encouraging disciples to be faithful for a different reason, and to know the benefits of that counterliving are rich indeed. We need to create more and different churches of universalist salvation because it should be a part of our spiritual discipline, our walk with Jesus, to reflect and embody Jesus' values which were communal, missional, getting outside of one's self and acting radically other than the Empire way of acting and thinking and relating. We need to plant such churches, such missions, because we do so from the deepest part of our being in response to the gifts of love the God of Love has given to us, so that this God of Love and not the God of Fear is the one that is made visible in the world. We plant them because we aren't complete and whole if we don't in our spiritual life, for the shape of love is a pouring out into another, the same way God incarnates the world. As Paul Ricouer says, its the Absolute Absolving.

The early church, all those universalists like Paul, knew that the spread of their churches was a core religious necessity because it was the way they did what they were called to do, to participate in Christ, in growing the body of Christ, as Christ grows them. It is the ultimate way of relating to those who are unlike us, which is the way of Jesus. We do it because if we don't there will be more hell on earth, and for that, somehow someway, we will be held accountable.

And remember this all leads to the next understanding that this doesn't mean that what we plant will have to look and be and act like what we understand church to be now, especially if we think of it in those terms as permanent building, set name, paid preacher and staff, set worship time, etc. etc If we think of it in those terms then the chasm that opens up before us between our resources and reality will paralyze us. But if we look with other eyes and other perspectives, then it becomes doable, and is catching. Our God wouldn't have it any other way; if it is done in such a way it seems to engender burnout or despair, then you know it isn't what God is seeking.

Well, thats a few notes I remember making from the short why part of the conversation. Next I will post more on the how. But that stuff, with some changes, you have heard from me before. But it will be another fresher look at the Inside Out Church.

Trust Letting Go In Order To Welcome In The New

One of the catches to letting go, is learning to trust that what you let go will allow for new, more needed/time appropriate things to enter instead. This is not my forte by any stretch. Trust me. (Ha ha, that's kind of funny)! But seriously, when I say that this is a struggle for me, I am being modest in my understatement.

I have always been the girl, desperate to believe and to have that belief proven. As you might imagine, this has created some rather large disappointments in my life as I set myself and my deities up to fail with timelines, tests, and so forth, all in the effort to gain validation to justify my trust.

Yes, I am one complex beast. I am very much the embodiment of You vs You in life.

The thing is, it's only when I try too hard, when I demand proof too much, and when I fail to let it be that I am filled with doubt. When I go with the flow, wait it out, and marvel in the small miracles, my life is filled with proof to justify my trust more than my heart can possibly contain.

And yet, I continue with this cycle of needing proof to justify my trust. It's deeply ingrained. I could blame it on my parents, and to some extent that would be justified, but I'm also not a victim of my life and thus believe that I have choice in the matter. I choose, on some messed up level, to continue to struggle with trust, despite the fact that there really isn't a need to do so at this point in my life. At least, not in the grand scheme of things, you know?

So how do I apply that to my daily life? How do I realize that in my spiritual practice? Can I let go long enough and trust that the universe will catch me? I'm working on it. I'm meditating on it. And slowly but surely, I'm facing the fact that it's only by letting go that I will ever have the possibility of change and finding that which I seek. All I ask is that the universe be gentle with me while I take my fumbling baby steps.

It Seems That Many Black Women Want To Be Rewarded With A Husband

A whole host of black women think that they will be 'gifted', rewarded or given husbands due to dilligence, hardwork or 'faithfullness' particulalry in church or around black community.

I know that this has to do with the fact that most bw have a Christian life -approach and how they tend to apply this approach across board which leads to total ineffectual responses to the demands of life.This is about being so willing to be work furiously doing something totally tangent to what you want to achieve because of being so afraid to really confront what it is really that you want and strategize and work on it directly.

We've talked about something similar before and recently Evia saliently highligted the fact that many bw hide out in church to avoid developing the skills and attributes necessary to take on modern life.

In truth many bw are afraid they dont have what it takes to confront life and win. A good number of bw are deathly afraid of the world and you will note the need for hiding behind or away from the wider world sublimated into 'protestations' of being so enamoured by and with everything black or everything christian that they just dont want to be around others (self-segregation) or engage in understanding their wider world. I have said this before that when i see black women reading ardently on trains or buses, 7/10 times it has to do with christianity; it is a bible or a religious pamplet that proposes to teach them '7 prayers for victory' etc!

Am I saying that religion, faith, reading the bible is wrong? Absolutely not however many black women do not have any other frame or lens to view the world or life in general. This is very limiting. Consider that black women are purported to be some of the most 'religious' women around yet what do they have to show for their religious zeal, if not some of the worse social statistics and wealth rates. Something is indeed not adding up!

You will note that many black women would rather be in church all day and everyday spending 7 hours praying or working in church etc than spend two hours a week doing something that directly enables them meet their goal of marriage etc eg a simple online profile. They want a man to be 'given' to them as a reward for service rather than drectly take on the task of doing what will lead to that outcome, and dont forget there are so many preachers and teachers fueling this notion that, 'God will reward such faithfulness' where faithfulness is conviniently defined as toiling in little church XYZ, and giving half of your income to said church. Passgaes in scripture are pointed to as 'proof', that one need only 'pray' like Hanna, or just keep 'working hard in the house of God' (Read pentecostal church XYZ). Indeed many churches are built around capitalizing on black women's fear and lack of courage in facing the world. They manage the risk of living for bw (by allaying her fears, claiming they will provide her the teaching to smoothen the path, and also be a place where bw can run to for support which essentially means prayer) but as with any insurance broker or agency that manages risk on behalf of others, it isnt free. So black women actually expend more time and energy in attending to her needs through the framwork of faith/church than if she boldly went out there and put together her own plan for securing her wants and needs.

I remember a couple of years ago, I was at one of these church conferences that lasts days. As I was exiting the morning session I noted a young lady sweeping and clearing up. When I came back later I saw her still at work. The next day she was there again. I went up to her to commend her for her dedication and I dont know how a couple of other women joined in but I recall one of the women said something like, 'When you are faithful, God gives you what you want in fact sister ABC over there has just gotten married...' I think we all more or less agreed that God rewards those who are faithful however even then I was a bit worried about the whole notion of God sending a man because we were 'faithful' in church. But even then I could see how tempting and ensnaring an idea that could be indeed:

* Rather than take the time to put myself together I can simply pray loads and God will send it as a gift.
* Rather than get my self presentation right, I can attend church group meetings, clean the toilets at church (all the while talking about how God looks at the heart and a righteous brother will always be looking at the heart and for a prayer warrior anyway!) and God will see my hearts desires and grant it.

The angle of this 'supernatural reward', is a key reason why many bw continue to remain in churches were, it is physically impossible for even 1/3 to get men because these men are just not there. They are so convinced that it will come about in one of those supernatural, last minute, dont-know-how-it-could-have-but-it-did ways they are constantly regalled with in church! I once heard a Pastor note that one of his best selling series was on 'supernatural transference of wealth from the world into the hands of Christians'. No suprises there!

A similar situation happens with many black women who matyr themselves for race or undertake needless hardships 'for their people', and how they often announce these in gatherings as if to say, 'well I bankrupted myself or let myself be used etc so come on, where is my reward'!

No one is going to reward you for living a shortchanged life even if you think this was your 'swing' for your race. I am well aware that many times bw are asked to pitch in especially into some black man's scheme,with a 'vague' promise of a coming reward for black women if they continue to believe and persevere and dont give up on black men, black people etc. Once again we see how the faith/christian frame is applied inappropraitely, indeed having faith in 'my people' or 'believing a black man is promised you' is not biblically premised although looking at many black women you could get the impression it is. Many hold it in their hearts as if it is written somewhere in the new testament!

If you apply 'faith' in this way under some pseudo-christian sentiment you cannot hold anyone else or God responsible if you never achieve what you are holding out for; things God never promised.

The black woman will not be 'lifted up' or decorated with medals for living out a self-negating and life limiting existence on behalf of race. On that you can be sure!

As a black women there is no opting out of doing what you need to do to get ahead in life. You must be effective and develop effective protocols and you must set about it now!

This symbolism is becoming "so obvious" that it can no longer be ignored. The convergence of the symbolism is becoming "so intricate" that it can no longer be interpreted as anything but suspect.

Friends, I defy anyone to explain to me "any form of logic" that says that this is all just "mere coincidence" that we're watching unfold before our very eyes, and not some sort of "spiritual convergence" (even if we can't quite make sense of it all or discern the true relevance to us Christians who are fervently waiting and watching for the Lord's return).

What in the world am I talking about? Well, only the "biggest news" to be reported yesterday, but news that was also barely acknowledged by most as though it were a ho-hum announcement.

NASA scientists last night unveiled compelling evidence of life on Mars. A special mission to the Red Planet has revealed the likely presence of a form of pond scum - the building blocks of life as we know it.

NASA unveiled the results of the recent Opportunity and Spirit probes sent millions of miles through the solar system to discover signs of extraterrestrial life.

The results are so promising boffins have already planned a host of other missions to discover whether there is extraterrestrial life in the universe.

The recent missions have gathered evidence of sulphates on Mars, a strong indication there is water on the planet and therefore life. Previous missions to Mars have concluded there is probably water on the planet. But the NASA boffins said the recent missions have gone further than any others in proving there is life on Mars.

They were particularly excited about the discovery of a sulphate called gypsum which, it has emerged recently, is found in large quantities among fossils in the Mediterranean.

Jack Farmer, researcher at the Arizona State University, in Tempe, Arizona, said he was "optimistic" there was - or had been - life on Mars.

Incredibly, that was the the first of a one-two-punch from NASA yesterday that I'm sure they expected would send shock waves around the world.

The other? ASTRONOMERS FIND LOADS OF ICE ON BIG ASTEROID. And so in the mere span of a few hours, Scientists attempted to try to minimize the beautiful mystery that is Creation by our Creator by attempting to "prove" to us that life isn't so uncommon after all.

What gives? Are they gearing up for an even bigger announcement perhaps? It would appear that way. I mean, not only did those two stories (pretty big ones by NASA's standards) come on the heels of one another on the VERY SAME DAY (normally, you'd spread out news like that and get as much free, positive publicity for your organization as you can), but I just read ANOTHER related story that ups-the-ante so to speak and puts the cards on the table to complete the Poker metaphor. This was the headline from an MSNBC report filed just 2 hours ago: SEARCH FOR ALIEN LIFE MAY TAKE GIANT LEAP FORWARD.

Yep, like I said, there was some "big news" reported yesterday and the world had no idea. Of course, I'm being facetious here. We all know what "breaking news" like this is being fed to us for. It's all a necessary part of the build-up to the coming "Great Deception" if you will. You better believe that a HUGE part of that worldwide deception will include "answers" regarding so-called "extraterrestrial life" in other parts of the universe.

Personally, I believe that Satan would be an absolute fool to allow the the entire so-called "Alien/UFO" phenomenon to pass without at least attempting to hijack people's sensibilities about the subject and use it to his advantage (assuming God lets him).

So, all of that is to simply say that this news wasn't shocking to me at all. However, you wanna know what was shocking to me? Seeing another story featured alongside this one in the "Related Stories" box about a "GORILLA" SEEN IN SNAPSHOT FROM MARS!

Their words, not mine. Are you kidding me!?! But just to make sure we didn't miss the point, this new image of a supposed "Silverback Gorilla on Mars" that was released to the public back in March 2010, also recalled to mind THE "BIGFOOT ON MARS" IMAGE FROM 2008, and that DEFINITELY ties in with what we began looking at on last Sunday when we wondered about the strange "Silverback" and "Bigfoot" symbolism that was appearing everywhere.

"SILVERBACK, OBAMAS IN THE 'TAR HEEL STATE', NEPHILIM" because I'm now CONVINCED that as "absurd" as it may have seemed to some to be researching and writing about such things, there's got to be a reason why the Holy Spirit led us there that day. For good measure, we might also want to go back and read THIS COLUMN ON SOME STRANGE GORILLA SYMBOLISM AND THE POPE/VATICAN FROM BACK IN DECEMBER 2009.

I even highlighted a place called MARS HILL is a town just 15 miles from Asheville, NC. I just figured I throw that out there too.

Like I said, you have to go back and re-read that post from last Sunday, April 25, 2010, just a few days ago, and view the pictures and read the facts. Maybe I'm overreacting here. Maybe I'm missing something that one of you might be able to discern.

Back to this NASA announcement about Mars for a moment. See, this is why I think that the fictional scenario presented in a film like "Capricorn One" (also involving Mars!) could very well manifest itself in the real-world in the form of "Project Blue Beam" let's say, and a simulated "anything from outer space".

Why do I think that? Well, because here we have NASA making what should be a MAJOR announcement to the world, and what does the world do in response? They simply yawn.

For an organization that's struggling to maintain relevance in this day and age of economic hardship where federal budgets are reduced significantly, it makes PERFECT sense that they would try to generate some kind of scenario that would force the U.S. government (maybe even the governments of the world) to pump an endless stream of money into the institution to help keep its doors open (again, just like in the movie "Capricorn One"!). We might want to start to consider how THE SUPER-SECRET X-37B just MIGHT play into all of this.

Also, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the "fictional" presentation of what it would be like to experience "Alien" visitors to our planet like the one shown to us on the hit TV series "V" because that's probably how it will play out in the near future.

Here's another thing I need to comment on. By the way, I just love (being facetious again) that this European publication quotes a Researcher from TEMPE, ARIZONA -- of all places -- to comment on this breaking news.

First and foremost, Tempe is right around the corner from Phoenix, AZ. The PHOENIX, of course, is one of those New World Order symbols that we're all familiar with, right? In other words, we know why it's a significant symbol to our common enemy and those loyal to him.

Tempe used to be where the NFL's Arizona "CARDINALS" used to play at "SUN DEVIL STADIUM", which brings us full circle to the National Football League and the "Silverback" comment that started it all last week. Tempe is also home to the "SUN DEVILS", and it's the "SUN DEVIL STATE" to some, which I found rather appropriate to our studies. Athletes at Arizona State University are known as "Sun Devils" a nickname adopted in 1946 (earlier nicknames were the "Normals", or the "OWLS" and, later, the "Bulldogs", which also raise some eyebrows given past studies too).

Funny thing about that year 1946. That was when World War II officially ended when we dropped two atomic bombs on Japan. I only bring that up because some of you have pointed out how the controversy (and charges of a conspiracy) surrounding the recent Polish plane crash that killed a majority of their government leaders is quite odd in that history tells us it was an attack and invasion of Poland that began World War II, and we're left to wonder if this "plane crash" was symbolic of the beginning of World War III if, in fact, there's any truth to the charges of conspiracy and foul play (like I believe that there is).

Ok, what else? Again, just the mere fact that a Researcher from Tempe, AZ -- of all places -- was one of the few people chosen to comment on this story is intriguing to me for two reasons.

Any discovery of so-called "Alien" life (sentient "Alien" life) with undeniable proof (something on the scale of a "Full Disclosure/First Contact" or "Project Blue Beam" type of event) would be a game-changer; it would be paradigm-shifting indeed.

Well, how ironic is it then, to find that "at this very same moment", it is in nearby Phoenix, AZ where this whole Immigration Reform debate began, which is an issue that threatens to be a watershed moment, a paradigm-shifting event if you will, for this entire nation based on the outcome? I just found the correlation between the two, and the fact that both could be major world-changing events for most people, to be quite unusual.

In addition, keep in mind the other related news that broke earlier this week as a sort of introduction to this story. British physicist Stephen Hawking said this week that "Aliens" might be traveling through the cosmos right now, but he warned they might have evil intentions. It's becoming a trademark phrase with me these days, but I have to say it again -- "What are the odds of all this, right?"

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if I'm "right" or "wrong" about all of this. I engage in these types of discussions and studies because I already know that God has intervened in my life -- on more than one occasion -- in very real and personal ways, defying all expectation and logic.

Given that fact, and given the fact that I have an intense interest in end times Bible prophecy (so that I can demonstrate to people how time is short and they need to accept Jesus Christ today), I'm constantly fascinated by these sorts of unexplained connections.

The only thing that matters, however, is your current relationship with Jesus. Humble yourself! Recognize that you are a sinner! Repent! Seek the Lord's face! Pray for the blood of Jesus Christ to wash over you and yours, and for it to protect you, and that you are counted worthy to escape the things to come because it's certainly coming, and it's coming fast!

Regardless of where you're coming from as you visit this site and read this please join me in saying one of the following prayers since one of them will most certainly apply:

"Father God, I know I need You because I am a sinner, but also know that I can never get to You on my own. There's nothing I can do on my own to make up for my sins; nothing I could do on my own to earn favor and forgiveness from You or to secure my place in Heaven when I die. The only thing I can do is to make a conscious decision that You sent Your one and only Son Jesus Christ, and that He came to this world for me. He took my sins upon Himself, was crucified in my place, died for me, and was resurrected so that I may live forever. I accept Him and His sacrifice, and desperately want to receive Your Son Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. When He conquered death for my sake He gave me access to You. Thank You for Your grace and Your mercy. Thank You for forgiving me and for sending the Holy Spirit to transform my life from this moment forward. I pray that You transform my life from this day forward and give me a heart and a mind that desires to not only get to know You, but to be with You as much as possible. Teach me how to live, and teach me how to share this message with others before it's too late for them. Please count me worthy to escape the things to come. Amen."

If you're already a saved Christian, but you haven't repented for your sins or sought the Lord for His mercy, forgiveness, salvation, or prayed that you are counted worthy to escape the things to come as we're instructed to, if you haven't done all these things in awhile, then please say the following prayer right now:

"Dear Lord, I pray that you will not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Please think of me according to Your mercy and for Your goodness' sake, O Lord. Lord I turn from all of those sins that I committed and I ask for Your help in washing the memory and thoughts of that sin completely from my mind. Please restore me to faithful obedience to Your Word, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit anew, so that I may keep Your commands all the days of my life. Lord Jesus, I invite you into my heart anew today, and I ask forgiveness for all of my sin. Jesus, thank you for dying for my sins and for forgiving me of them through your shed blood for me on the cross. Please take away all the sinful 'old things' in my heart that defile me, and replace them with the 'good things' that you desire to grow in to my life. Please wash away all the sinful crud and tendencies toward evil and replace them with a hunger and thirst for your righteousness. I need your help, Lord God, in living this new life in Christ. Please send your Holy Spirit afresh into my life to help me, heal me, lead me and transform me. I also pray that your shed blood washes over me, protects me, and that I am counted worthy to escape the things that are coming upon this world in the form of your righteous judgment. Lastly, I pray that you have mercy on this nation even though we deserve your fierce judgment for our blatant sins that are before you. Help us to see the error in our ways as individuals and as a nation, and lead us to repentance before it's too late for us. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."

Please keep in mind that we can't just utter some 30-second prayer and "make everything ok" in our lives, and square things up with the Lord. It has to be a genuine, heartfelt, humble repentance you give through faith in Jesus Christ that He will have mercy on you and forgive you from your sins. Then, it's turning your life over to Him so that He is truly your Lord and Savior from this moment on.

Now that we're back on the right track in this life let's all use what little precious time we have left drawing that much closer to God while sharing His life-saving message with as many people as we can before it's too late for us and too late for them.

Remember that if you're worth dying for, then He's worth living for. Begin a new life in Jesus Christ today and commit to getting to know Him and serving Him daily.

What is the relevance of all of this (if any) to the Body of Christ at this late and urgent hour? Are we being primed and prepared for what's coming by being gently nudged by the Holy Spirit to consider such possibilities and our likely response as Christians should they occur?

If I had to guess, and this is PURE SPECULATION on my part, but with all this symbolism involving "Bigfoot", and "Silverback Gorillas", and "Sun Devils", and "Cardinals" I would have to think that something quite profound is in store for the church, but particularly for the Catholic Church of Rome, the Pope, and the Vatican.

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN ROME AND THE VATICAN IS MADE UP OF CARDINALS. THE POPE IS OTHERWISE KNOWN BY HIS OFFICIAL TITLE AS THE "PRIMATE OF ITALY".
